  •      Parker Ranch Trip 073 -640 Parker Ranch Home Site
Friday we drove to the Parker Ranch near Waimea/Kamuela. We viewed the museum after a Hawaiian grown lunch. The fish taco I had was wonderful! This historic home was the home of Richard Smart, the last Parker heir. (He had his assets put into a trust at his death and it benefits 4 entities in the town, one being a state of the art hospital.) We toured this home and the ancestral home as well. Very interesting. Outside there are gardens and this view is down by its pond. I love the rolling hills of the area. Before leaving the area we had purchased both beef jerky and steak to grill that was from the Parker Ranch. We learned it is available at Safeway and Kroeger stores under the Angus Pride brand and another name I can’t remember. We grilled it tonite. It was so delicious and almost “melt in your mouth” if meat can ever be that way.

  • Interesting world of vegetation and history! We were on Maui for our 50th. We love Hawaii for a vacation spot! Have been in Honolulu for conference speaking and four hour car tours of the island, only.  We could easily choose another trip to the Islands someday. Your pictures are enticing me  to suggest another time there.  But, our only visits have been accompanied with Dan’s speaking assignments. . .

  • Have a great time!  It looks wonderful there. We’re experiencing below zero temps here in Wisconsin with lots of snow…

  • You are a cruel woman posting these pictures!  No, really…have fun..pack some of that sunshine in a suitcase for me!

  • wow, the flower pic on the right looks like a watercolor. amazing! okay, i am envious.

i have been so preoccupied and completely forgot to send you the rest of the info for oahu. I WILL DO IT TODAY!

  • Got down in the 20s last night where we live. Oh how I miss that warm water over there and bright sunny days!

Have a wonderful celebration! Who says it can’t be done in this day and age? Delores and I celebrated 41 years together this last Sunday. That makes you and us in the minority. Congratulations!

  • Fish taco????? Not something I would think about making, but it sounds interesting. Those are beautiful pictures.
