  Description:

  Peter D and Rachel Z were engaged in Oregon Friday, August 15, 2003. Peter and Rachel came to visit Glen and Jann D, his parents, in Tigard, OR.  After exploring sights in the Portland area the family went to the coast Friday.  Their older son, Andy, flew in from Denver Thursday night.  After enjoying touring Seaside, Astoria and Cannon Beach, Peter wanted his family near Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach to witness Rachel reading the book he had written for her, "Tale of Two Lovers". The story captured with a medieval theme their meeting and dating in Springfield, MO.  "Prince Peter" is a 2002 graduate of Evangel University whose teams are called Crusaders, etc.  "Princess Rachel" graduated this spring with a double major in elementary and preschool education and will student teach this fall.  Peter has completed his first year at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary and continues this fall pursuing a master's degree in Inter Cultural Ministries.  His under grad degree was in Communications with an electronic media emphasis. The end of the story instructed Rachel to return the book to Peter.  He read the portion that asked her to help him "finish the story happily ever after".  She accepted his "Will you marry me?"  At Peter's request Dad, Mom and Andy captured the memorable time with cam corder and digital cameras.  Peter and Rachel anticipate marrying this next spring/early summer in Janesville, WI, where Rachel's family had lived 14 years. They reside in Edgerton near Janesville presently.  Peter and Rachel look forward to ministry together with media and education to train nationals to spread the gospel. They anticipate starting in Ecuador and may work in various countries.  Peter and Rachel were honored at an engagement party in Beaverton, OR Sunday, August 17.

  Months later and we are just as thankful for this couple coming together as when I wrote this.  Their creativity and enjoyment of each other is a wonder to observe and enjoy with them.  And now there is a friend who joins in their fun.  Stay tuned for photos of their dog, Milo, who is Mr. Personality from the sounds of it!  Is it OK that I can hardly wait to meet Milo!???  We'll go to Springfield this spring for Peter's graduation from AGTS on April 30.

  Edit: They were married in Springfield, MO, May 1, 2004.  They went to Ecuador summer 2004 for Peter's missions practicum and worked with Missionary Bill McDonald with Unsion, Christian TV station in Cuenca, Ecuador.  Now they feel called to any part of the world including the USA.
